My RS4 was stolen this morning from the Leatherhead area. I am feeling sick. Me and the wife went out at about 9am, then when she returned at 1230 found we had been burgled.
House was broken into (smashed through the rear patio door) and the keys were stolen, car taken off the drive (seen by a neighbour at 1030 leaving) nothing else taken thankfully. Police say that two other Audis have been taken from the Surrey area in the last couple of weeks. Please be careful.
In case it is still on its plates its RS04 HUT if you see it about please call the Police. It was ANPR'd at J14 of the M25 going clockwise at about 1240.
The worst thing is that now the wife will never be happy if there is a desirable car on the drive (two young kids) so it has ruined the chances of having nice cars for me. Just not worth the risks.

So soory Danbo, absolutely gutted for you and hope this gets sorted quickly.
I understand what you are saying about your wife and not wanting that kind of car on the drive, but some friends of mine recently had a new A3 TDi and Volvo stolen from their house in a similar way, both fairly standard cars.
The fact that it was an RS4 is probably not as significant as it seems, unfortunately it appears that if you have anything remotely valuable some f****r will nick it.

Is there not something you can do along the lines of improved security e.g. big dogs (although perhaps with small children, this brings other potential issues).

Sorry to hear that mate.
Always best to focus on the good points. I had a car stolen in South London at knife point, took the keys from me. Gang of kids in hoods and masks who frankly did not look old enough to have a fricking licence. But wielding a knife and being very aggressive, you take no chances. I had to hand him the keys and watch the little scroats drive down the road. At least you weren't hurt or involved in the incident.
I'm sure the wife will come around, she is in shock at the moment which is understandable, there are still understated performance cars you can get once things get back to normal. And you can park it in the garage.
Fingers crossed the BiB find it but sounds like quite a professional job, clearly they were targeting the car only. They tried to do the same to my mate's GT-R in Surrey last year but he takes the keys everywhere with him.

Get a safe built into the floor so its hidden and then always put your car in the garage out of site. Alternatively take all keys with you when you leave the house.
I'm not sure that'd help protect the family. Surely hiding the keys is asking for a confrontation, possibly including the wife and kids?edited to add: OP, sorry to hear the scumbags got away with it. Hopefully the insurance process is quick and painless and you're back in a nice car soon.
