I've been lurking around these forums for quite a while now and have had much enjoyment and learnt a lot from them. I don't really know why but I've never really felt the need or had the time to do much online chatting until now. Hopefully now that I've taken the plunge I shall be able to make occasional and sensible contributions to several sections of pistonheads in the future.

I have been a keen driver and have been interested in motorsport for more years than I care to remember and now that I'm nearing retirement I hope at sometime in the near future to renew my love affair with Lotus, I had an S2 Elan which I seriously tuned way back in the 60's and have always regretted parting with it.

My other long term interests are mainly water based, windsurfing, yachting and diving, although I have been a keen skier in the past and very occasionally when there's no wind I belt a little white ball around a course with some mates, I am also a keen amateur cook.

Because I am so hooked on windsurfing my personal transport for the last 15 years or so has been a VW Van, my current one is a Diamond Black T5 LWB 174 bhp, chipped to 205 bhp with an H & R coilover suspension kit and Caravelle body parts, if I can work out how I'll post a photo.

I will also be honest and say that another reason that I have joined now is that my daughter is pregnant with my first grandchild so her MG TF has to make way for a more sensible mode of transport and I can't think of anywhere better to advertise it than here. I do hope mentioning this doesn't break any rules but apologise if it does.
Firstly welcome and congratulations with your first grandchild. Water sports isn't really my bag, needless to say are any other sports, but the T5 sounds more than apt! To post images you need to host the image online, whether it be Thumbsnap or Photobucket, you then need to wrap the image link (typically ending in .jpg) with [ img][/ img] (without the spaces in the tags). If you look on the top of your reply window you should see an 'Upload an image (beta)' link, try that also. I havent tried it myself just yet..
