I saw this on a video from Evo magazine when they test drove the 911 Turbo. I was just wondering does anyone know anything about this machine? Where you can get it? Cost? Does it act as a accurate speedo?

Thanks

Here's a picture of the machine in question and a link to the video

Good bit of kit, think it's a bit pricey though.

If on a budget and just for a bit of fun download Dynolycious for your iPod Touch or iPhone.

Certainly not as good, but highly affordable and gives usable results. I think someone tested it against a Vbox and was seeing 0.1 comparable times.

Once again very impressed with Pistonheads knowledge bow

How does the machines work? Do you just plug it in to the cigarette lighter or something? Bear in mind I have the mechanical merits of a toddler!

Thanks again

This is a good alternative. My friend tried it at Avon Park and it was within 1/100th of a second of his posted time.

Yes - plugs in to the lighter socket or you can get a battery pack at extra cost. It uses a 10hz GPS antenna, you can use it with google earth to overlay your journeys on a map too. My father has one, it's quite a good bit of kit and they seem to sell on ebay for about 90% of the cost to buy new.
