When will Chrysler give it up?
Discussion
Europeans do not want your ugly, plasticky, flimsey, over-priced (for what they are) boring looking rubbish.
You sell this rubbish in the US because it is half the price you try to sell it here for.
Vietnam it. Give it up, battle lost, go home......
(my hatred stems from a ride in a new Chrysler today and it was the worst built, noisiest, harshest shoddiest car i've ever been in. I was 3 days old - I'm embarrassed for you that you think you can sell this tat)

Have you just seen the advert for the ypsilon? Ugly POS or sure!
Whilst it may be ugly, it is a lancia with a chrysler badge, so kind of erodes the Op's statement of;OdramaSwimLaden said:

In that plenty of Italians drive it, so Europeans clearly have been buying it, and for quite some time too....To answer the OP, they won't be. Fiat see it as their luxury brand to market to older people and as such are selling rebodied bravos and such as Chryslers - they are badged Lancia on the continent.
I drove a new Delta the other week and it was none of the things you described. In fact I was startled by it's quality and ability. And I know the looks are challenging but that's subjective.
I think you will see a lot more of this brand which you seem to despise. Also, the 300c replacement is looking good!

I do struggle with Chrysler, whilst I have a vehicle from their organisation, finding their decent models is like picking peanuts out of st. Some of the Jeeps are ok, the Charger/300/Challenger are all decent (as yank motors go). Whereas the PT Cruiser, Sebring/200, Jeep Compass, Dodge Avenger/Caliber/Grand Caravan/Nitro are all cosmically diabolical.
until a few weeks ago the Voyager was the only vehicle you could buy with a Chrysler badge on it (here in the UK) its been their only vehicle for sale for at least a year, and you dont see many of them about really surprized they have managed to keep trading. The 300C was dropped ages ago
even as a group, with Dodge and Jeep in tow they are very low volume sales, guess the little FIAT is keeping them alive

If you adopt a historical perspective, you will see that the one market place Fiat and Lancia constantly failed in was the large executive market. The Fiat 132s were dire, the Thema was overshadowed by the Saab and Alfa and even their people carriers only achieved the status of taxis. Alfa were rather more successful with the 164/166 but currently have nothing.
The Chrysler 300C has actually been a very good seller for Chrysler. What it offers is a replacement for the big Fords and Vauxhalls of yore and so cost is the key factor. The other thing it offers is style in an era of very very very bland corporate styling where one face fits all. It is at least individual and doesn't bleat in the daily flock. It's a V8 instead of a 4 or 6.
It's a cheap big car for Fiat though as I have opined elsewhere, I think they should be looking at the premium Maserati brand to compete against BMW/Merc/Audi.
I have always perceived Lancia as the Italian Rover which would make Alfa their MG (of an era when it still had status).
Like anything, the market will decide. There are plenty of hateful modern cars out there with very little style at all and people do tend to under-rate style as a stand-alone factor.

I've always quite liked American cars. Always think it's great going over there and driving some of their cars on hire. I even used to like the humble Dodge Intrepid that the hire companies always had and gave us.
The Dodge Avenger I had took loads of abuse, underneath it was mainly Japenese which I guess is why.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
