I look after my little Clio cup so am a little surprised that my passenger side rear shock has started leaking and banging within 1year 10k. The first set lasted 65k. It went for a service at my local independent and the rear shocks were picked up on as being worn out and leaky. I payed extra for genuine Renault parts as it's the cup model I wanted it just right. Have I got any kind of comeback with Renault. Or will they just presume I've been hooning over speed bumps. I have not, but even if I had. 1year just seems a joke.

One of mine let go at about the same mileage, although the car was only a year old at the time. Renault changed both rears without even quibbling iirc. I would certainly ask them how long their parts warranty is, as 10k is a joke.

Not sure if genuine Renault parts are the same but I believe VW parts are warranted for 1 year if fitted "DIY" and 2 years if you can provide proof of installation by a proper garage - which you should be able to do. I'd go back to Renault...
