Watch Out For Clio RS Raider Special Edition

As unfortunate names go, it's a cracker...

Ordinarily, the fact of Renault chucking some matt grey paint and sticky Bridgestone RE 050A tyres at a Cup chassis-spec Renaultsport 200 for a 50-example special edition wouldn't warrant a PH homepage news story.

But we have a childish sense of humour in the PH office, so the chance to write about the new Clio 200 ars...sorry... RS Raider instigated too much snickering to pass up.

The car itself will be available to order from the end of October (though Renault hasn't revealed the price as yet).

And don't worry if you miss out on one of the 50 'Raiders of the lost RS' (stop it - Ed.) - Renault is also producing a similar model, called the 'Ange et Démon', with production for that capped at a devilish 666 units. Now there's a whole new world of puns, right there...

Ahh, so the Raider names returns. I was a fan of the old 5 Turbo Raider many years ago.

I wonder if we'll get a Clio RS 200-R next year before the new one comes out.

They should have stiffened the suspension really. It'd be a rough ride, but it'd stop it bottoming out.

Give it some black pin-striping and it'll look fun.

Renault need to give the Clio a Turbo.

This is the only side of the Clio that needs attention IMO.

The suspension could easily handle another 40-50 bhp.

Just look how good the R26R was with it being turbocharged.

Now that in my mind would be a hot hatch worth investing in. smile

18" wheels on a Clio. Oh dear. Just not needed. Wonder how it affects the composure
