Car battery advice needed
Discussion
My battery has given up the ghost. Its a Varta 60ah 600a start in a 3 litre Peugeot 406.
Can anyone recommend a good battery or retailer they have used?
I have heard good things about Halfords batteries (apparently re branded Varta) and seem to do very well in group tests.
There are two that come up for my car, one is lead acid one is calcium. What's the benefit of the calcium one?
I also have a Man Bat distributor near me that specialises in Numax batteries but I don't really know anything about those.
Budget is around £100
Cheers

I just bought one of these babies from there http://www.tayna.co.uk/017TE-Exide-Car-Battery-X-T...
That came to around £100 inc. delivery but you might not need something so big, just work out the dimensions that will fit and then find the Ah and CCA rating you want.

Thanks for that, I've gone for a slightly smaller version of that one but a bargain at £76 all in! I just bought one of these babies from there http://www.tayna.co.uk/017TE-Exide-Car-Battery-X-T...

They came out top in an auto express group test too.
That euro car parts battery is way too small, I think its showing batteries for the smaller engined 406s even when I put my number plate in. Thanks anyway though!
