Personalised plate decision

I've always faniced the idea of getting a personalised plate to make my vehicle a bit more unique to myself. My initials are NDC and I'm quite into heavy metal so was thinking of the following plate: W666 NDC

The W indicating the devil's horns, 666 being the number of Satan and then my initials at the end - all for approx £400 which I didn't think was too bad.

However, the missus thinks that it is a bit boring and looks like any other standard W reg plate...... Can anyone else recommend anything that's a bit more unique perhaps or should I stick with this?

Sounds alright, bit steep at £400 though. My plate, which I've had for about 14 years, is similar to my (odd) surname and only cost £250 at the time.

Do DVLA still do £250 plates?

J666 NDC is £255 from DVLA. So you'd be paying an extra £150 for your "horns".

I'd look for a shorter more meaningless plate. I prefer something like X10 XXX which I once pondered (long gone now) or S555 SSS or G666 GGG just for the way they look or OA04OAO..

most things that are XXXX NDC will look like ordinary plates, surely you can get XX NDC for similar prices?

They do blend in which is what I like about my long plate. It only means something to people that know me. "W888CKO"

But have been hunting down a dateless plate with my initials in it, ideally "93 JE" I would give 5 grand for it but can't trace it's owner !

Yeah I could get XX NDC but not sure I can think of something which would have as much meaning for me?

DVLA still have 4 number 1 NDC prefix plates for just over 1k.

E1 NDC
G1 NDC
V1 NDC
Y1 NDC

Save up and get one of them.

G for Goldent whatever that means?

If money was no object then that would be great but I have a stern budget of £500 which I think is pretty plentiful for a plate

I paid £249 years ago for K3 YBO, which I think is great, but in the last 8 years I have spent more than that on transfer fees (£85 a time) and retention fees when I was carless for a bit. Paying for the plate is not the end of the expenditure! Still, I think it's well worth it.

How about a plate that relates to the car rather than you? What car is it?

Sorry, but I just don't get private number plates.I've got enough stupid DVLA charges and paperwork to deal with already.
I would buy MAN1C if I had plenty money though.

Unfortunately I am getting a new car this weekend which I'm only keeping for a year/18 months until I potentially get a company car!

Think they're £255 now.
Got mine a few years back (A** SYR) for £250
Don't understand the DVLA procing though, change that to an E and its £490!?

Almost spent more than that now on plate transfers though! Had new car every year since i got it, so spend £240 on DVLA transfer fees!
