Blimey, I need a new car
Discussion
I had decided a few months ago that I would run my Skoda Superb into the ground, unfortunately it happened yesterday, about 3-4 months earlier than I expected.
Coming back from Reading I noted that the engine note had suddenly turned 'Diesel', a bit strange for a 1.8t petrol. Then I notice in my rear view mirror, a strange blue haze discolouring the view.....oh bugger....that's me.
I managed to limp the car home, no power and smokey as a smokey thing. The old girl is pretty battered, has 92k on the clock and not worth repairing as the bodywork is pretty shot. So a quick call to the local scrap dealer and they are picking the car up tomorrow and they will let me have £200-250 for the car.
The car has got me through the early parent, muddy feet, sticky and snotty fingers stage whilst my daughter was growing up. So I would now like something a bit more fun.
I would really like a 330D coupe, I went to see one a few weeks back and I very nearly bought it but it was just a tad too much at 15500.
I'm not sure whether to lease a car either personal or through my Ltd company (scum bag IT contractor). Or do I man up and sign up to a 15k loan?
Or perhaps get a cheap, mental smoker barge for 6 mths until my business account has built up and I can afford the 330D with ease? My finances were recently run down whilst I was on holiday then looking for work.
Whatever I get has to be automatic, fun and powerful to drive and have a few gadgets / toys etc. Oh and ideally have folding rear seats.
Any advice welcome.

Apologies if i get this wrong as I am making some assumptions but looking on your profile it says your skoda was a 2003 model? You got rid of this for scrap? A pure guess on my part but the smoke sounds like it was the turbo. Not the most simplest or cheapest of jobs but surely not that bad?
Edit. Just reread the not worth repairing bit but an 03 skoda superb for £250?

Yeah, on it's own it may have been worth repairing, but some toerag dented the rear nearside door, somehow it's jammed shut and nothing I have tried can release it (the lock mechanism is knackered). It has other minor scrapes and the alloys are hideous. It has been used and abused and I wouldn't dream of selling it to someone as I would feel guilty, so it needs to be scrapped and turned into something nice. I can look after cars and bikes, just not this one.
15k loan over three years
Won't be much per month and you'll have the car you want.
For me it actually leaves me more money in the short term, I save around £600 per month minimum for the car fund but a 15k loan for me over 3 years was around £450 per month so would leave me atleast an Extra £150 each month, The repayment best was £16,789 (I think) so all in all a loan for me gets me to where I want to be quicker aswell as my monthly saving of £150 more than offsets the extra £1789 they charge for the loan.
Need to choose and research carefully though

Wow, just how bad is the bodywork!?!
The cheapest Superb on Autotrader with a 1.8 T engine has 86k on it and is up for£2500. You should easily be able to get a second hand turbo from a 20vt for £150 off ebay.
Just what I was thinking, Evilbay/PH Classifieds even God forbid Gumtree! Has to be worth far more than £250!!!!The cheapest Superb on Autotrader with a 1.8 T engine has 86k on it and is up for£2500. You should easily be able to get a second hand turbo from a 20vt for £150 off ebay.

Would you not be better off buying a quality e46 diesel or something similar and save yourself 10 grand. The'd probably give you a bit more than £250 for your trade-in aswell if you bought through a garage.
That's a good possibility, I'll look into it, trouble is that I can't be picky as I need something pretty quickly.Tempted by this, it could be good motorway fun for a few months.

I had a 2.7 diesel version as a hire care and really liked the build and feel of it.

This, life is unpredictable. Just think if something goes wrong with the business, its in trouble for a reason.Edited by Zaxxon on Thursday 6th October 17:00
