I cant decide between the "transporter BMW 7" or the "Fast and the Furious Nissan Silvia" however they perform much better than the ones in the real life..

which car on a movie impressed you and failed in "the real life" ?

The Audi S8 from Ronin. That thing was punished. Bet you it would actually be like that in real life too... as fast as that and as tough as that!

The Fast & Furious cars are, mostly, a joke. I seem to recall the only one that was actually any cop was the Chevrolet Monte Carlo from Tokyo Drift- I'm pretty sure it actually had a monstrous engine in it...

EDIT: here it is! Definitely worth watching! 509 cu.in. Monte Carlo... http://www.insideline.com/chevrolet/monte-carlo/to...

Ha! The one from Taxi 3 was perhaps the most far-fetched. Although I've not seen Taxi 4 yet...

It says one was 560+ with 700bhp.

I was watching that bit a few hours ago( i quite like the music too) when he smashes the rear window it shows the car on slicks as well.

It seems like a touring car and sounds like one as well.

As per my thread, 4 is a bit crap and the 407 has a pretty low revving turbo. Pretty dissapointing.

I do actually really like that film. It's the most realistic out of all of them, there are no particularly unrealistic speeds or stunts achieved (unlike the other four films).

Would love one of them though, proper old-skool muscle car that looks like crap!

I wonder if the race between that and the Viper was actually done properly, i.e. would the Monte keep with the Viper? I'd imagine the 725bhp one would have no trouble!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the sound was overdubbed with one of the BTCC Peugeot 406s, so I'd say you're dead on there. Would be nice to imagine that the 3.0 V6 was actually tuned out of the arse for that film, but we all know the truth..! The airjacks made me laugh the first time I saw it. Would definitely rather have one of the 500Es that they featured.

It seems to keep up with ease on the straights, corners are a different matter though, lol.

The Mach 1 Mustang from the original "Gone in 60 Seconds"

The abuse it took was ridiculous - and the jump was amazing seeing as they really did it, no CGI there!

Yeah but that's actually some fairly simple psychology- it makes you realise he's actually an awful 'driver'- he can make the car go fast, but he can't turn for st. Whereas by the end of the film he's the fking don. Message achieved and compounded for any repeat viewers!
