I have an 06' reg Piaggio NRG Power and I was wondering what I could do to make it quicker, it's completely de-restricted and has a new exhaust, any other things I could do to make it quicker?

In all seriousness I don't think there is much more you could do. Bigger engine perhaps?

Don't bother, you'll spend a lot of money to get another 0.4bhp and 1.3mph!

Save your cash for a bigger machine and insurance!

Otherwise find a Piaggio forum and ask there, I expect you'll see that the return isn't worth the investment.

is it air or water cooled ?

many moons ago I tuned my brothers piaggio.

big bore kit
exhaust swap
bigger carb
gear up kit

all well and good if you can only drive a 50cc but you stick out doing 70mph down hill. . . waste of money is reality.

I had a scooter with a 25hp NOS kit, and it was excellent fun. Did a trackday at Rockingham on it, with a 40hp jet, but it started smoking a bit too much.

I'd sell it and get a 125 to be honnest. Something bike shaped with gears unless you're into this sort of thing....

A friend of mine spent a fortune on his "ped". Turned 17 and regretted it when everyone else had spent money on driving lessons and nice cars.

He used to freeze his nuts off trying to keep up with us!

Don't bother is what I'd suggest.

Save your money for 4 wheels.

is this the most pointless thread today?

BTW yes I've had mopeds, scooters , motorbikes. But this thread is ridiculous.

I agree. 4 wheels is just not financially smart for 90% of young people.

I dont get it, when somebody says its better to get 4 wheels than 2, have you seen the insurance prices for a 17 year old? £8k to insure a 10 year old fiesta is ridiculous, its cheaper to insure my dads Galaxy, and even then, its £4.5k, and £500 insurance for a 125 makes so much more sense.

I tried insuring a basic 07' plate Focus and they quoted me £6000 at the best price. Definatly can't afford a car at the moment frown
