Bought a car for parts this weekend, but I can't get the wheels off thanks to the guy not giving me a locking nut for it. He hasn't responded to my text asking about it.

Is there any kind of tool I can buy to remove them?

That doesn't look especially tricky.. wouldn't a large enough hex-head socket fit in there?!

Isn't that a Torx head that is needed?

That't not a locking wheel nut it's a slimline alloy wheel bolt, they come with a long torx style bit that you need to get them off, halfords should have one!

You might have to count the splines in case they do different ones!

If that was the case wouldn't the rest have been the same?

They are the same. I just didn't see the point in showing them all.

No. Only one on a set of 4/5 is typically requiring a key. Cost, I guess. Very common.

Apologies, I saw the hole on the next spoke didn't have a nut/bolt & thought you'd got the rest off.

Sounds like the correct sized torx bit will get you out of trouble

Take a walk down your road, find a car with same torx bolt and ask the neigh bour to borrow the fitting from their boot for all of 5 minutes.

looks like a big multi-spline type thing, using a torx will apply too much torque to too few splines, which will muller it then you will be stuffed

I always thought this was the best way to remove those nuts
