What can I use to clean seat belts..?

Nothing I've tried seems to work and my shirts are getting annoyed.

I've had some luck using Flash Multi purpose anti bacterial wipes to clean the inside of cars.
They might work on seatbelts.

I wonder if there's a load of crud inside the retractor mechanism though, so it'll just re-crud the belt when it retracts?

Maybe, but I can't find anything that transfers muck from the belt to the cloth I'm using...

I find surgical spirit works a treat, seriously.

Especially good if your new pride and joy had a previous owner who obviously "overdid" the perfume (I think she must have been putting it on in the car).

I have heard furniture polish is good if they are slow to retract, not sure how it cleans them.

Pull the belt out all the way, stop it retracting with a clothes peg or bulldog clip, then soak it for a while in a container of washing powder solution. Scrub with a nail brush if neccesary, rinse well and leave overnight to dry, keeping it away from leather trim etc.

Panel wipe, what you use for cleaning a car before painting it.

It's the business, cleans and then evaporates within 10mins.

Available from any paint shop.

Just been Googling to find out how to get vomit out of seat belts rolleyes and our Audi's manual says specifically don't use chemicals, except for a soap solution.

Could I recommend baby wipes - any own brand will do.

Baby wipes remove pencil / crayon from walls they are effing brilliant at all sorts of removals.

Baby wipes can fade the colours.

Panel wipe is the answer.

I find sand and oil works best, followed by a dose of fake tan to restore the colour HTH.
