custom exhaust

After being quoted £650 for a cat on my car by toyota, I started wondering if its possible to replace the entire exhaust system with a complete custom job for the car including cat? Its a rare import so finding pattern parts is frankly impossible.

worth getting a quote from a specialist as they can knock up an entire system for less, often.
phone this chap he makes stainless tuff for rather exotic machinery.

Impressed by the results, if not the customer service. It was something like £250 fro the whole system, although mine doesn't have a cat

It does depend on what your wanting the exhaust on but either of the cars mentioned in your profile I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a decent custom exhaust place that'd do the lot for much lower than your saying there.

Well to be honest as long as it's not costing you any more why the hell not but other than that I'd stick with trying to beat the dealers down on price a little for a normal system because you'll never notice the difference between normal and custom with a 97 hiace (Other than noise)

Most of them will engineer a cat into the system, either stock or a higher flow.
