Long story short my parked car was crashed into this morning. The old dear admitted full liability and her insurance has already got the ball rolling. My car has been collected as it was undriveable and is on its way to an accident repair center. I've just contacted her company about my courtsey car as they had passed the details onto Eurocar. They now claim Eurocar closed at 12 and I will have to wait until, get this... Monday! To get a courtsey car. What rights do I have? I need transport this weekend and I need to get to work Monday before Eurocar opens confused

She claims all they can do is give me £10 per day as this is what they would pay Eurocar for the car... I would have thought the figure was nearer £50 but hey ho. Can I hire a car and charge it back to them?

Grammar Nazis back off I'm angry and in a rush!

Try a company like helphire they do it all for you without touching your insurance so no excesses to pay and waiting to claim it back. Also any out of pocket expences. Get a taxi everywhere you need to go and keep a reciept that is not unreasonable. Why should you be out of pocket or inconvienienced because of some daft old bat?

No, don't do Helphire, that's just excessive. Ring them back, tell them that you are going to rent yourself a small car from a local company until they can get you a hire car; you're entitled to it although they might bleat a little.

Yeah I've been fobbed off. Can't go to a accident management company as they have offered me a car and I will have the pay the difference in costs. There is nothing I can do at all to get transport. I'm severly pissed off. Thankfully the women on the phone heard the tone and they are now trying to get me a better courtsey car when I do eventually get one laugh Also they will reimburse any loss of earnings. 10hours overtime at double time was planned for tomorrow. I'll take a nice £300 for not working thumbup

If you are going to hire and charge back then I advise you to get the cheapest possible car, That way it will be less painful should the claim get rejected.

Don't involve an AMC at this stage.

Go and hire a car from your local enterprise it's only £25 day pay for it yourself if you have to and claim it back, anyway £25 is not a lot of suffering is it?

Yes it is when I've been crashed into. It could also be worth mentioning I'm 21, will a car hire company actually let me have one? What would the insurance costs be like?

I was planning on picking up a few friends and going for a drive through north Leeds today. Maybe we should get a taxi and claim the fare back?rolleyes This is a huge piss boiler for me, I wouldn't mind but my pride and joy was fking parked legally and safely.

Reason I say that is when it happened to me I rang them, I had a hire car delivered in 2 hours, my car was taken away and repaired, My insurance wasnt touched, I added my wife to my other cars insurance and got that back aswell as about £250 compo.
When I used my own insurance/ third partys insurance they went knock for knock until it was sorted and I got my excesses back. Also my renewal went up as it wasnt sorted before my renewal date so my NCB was affected. None of this would of happened if I just said bks and used an AMC.

lots of confusing bits there
Who collected your car and whose accident repair centre has it gone?
Did you choose it, the third party or is your insurance involved?

You should be able to handle it yourself arranging reasonable hire car, good repairers etc but make sure it's you that stays in control and dont sign anything off until youre satisfied
If you cant handle it all or it's going to take too much time there's this thread
