Ok, so I'd like to try this for sts and giggles.

I've been trawling ebay and local autotraders - but there isn't really anything worth having. Where do you pick up bangers? I guess some cheeky eBay offers / auctions / sniping?

Anywhere else I should look? Are there any cars in particular that would be good?

Cheers.

Depends on what your budget is but I would be doing a tour of the local Dealers and second-hand showrooms, trying to get hold of a Part-Ex that they aren't going to be able to put up for sale.

Main dealers send all of the crap to auction and the second hand showrooms will sell any old st....

I was doing it wrong. Lol. Still not a right lot, unless I want a ropey transit van or a leggy punto.

It's just your luck really, cheap stuff comes and goes even quicker.

I missed out on a bargain banger by 10 minutes once hehe Guy was filling out the V5 when I arrived to look at it

Ebay's full of stuff! Trick is not to be too picky when it comes to colour, spec, badge, the odd scuff or scratch.

For a grand you should be able to take your pick on the bay!

It's so much easier to do this if your insurance company is kind to you too - I need to be very picky but if you're the kind that can insure a barge for 50p more than an econobox, you'll do well.

eBay's thrown this up, little bit concerned about the shut lines around the bonnet and the alloys...

EDIT: And the tints.

I'd discount that immediately because of the alloys, personally. No modified cars is my #1 rule hehe
