If you became a gazillionare, suppose you invented cold fusion or managed to prove that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had pinched your ideas for example. What car firm would you buy to turn into a world beater?

Or would you buy an old brand name and restart it?

You could just start from scratch, but most people who try it seem to use an existing name, usually Jensen for some strange reason. Presumably it signifies the type of car they want to make, as with Bugatti and Maybach.

Personally I'd be tempted to buy Mercedes just to get rid of that blasted foot operated parking brake. Or Bentley and start making something in the spirit of the pre war Le mans racers.

Sadly, I imagine something like Kia would probably make the most financial sense in the future.

I would buy TVR though and I would become CEO/test driver.
