Another one of those threads but not quite the norm.

10k to spend.

Its got to be a classic, either an old one or modern. Fun to drive, its only going to be used as a toy. Not something i'm going to loose ££££'s on. I don't care about fuel bills.

So far i'm thinking

240z
z3m coupe

any other ideas?

Elise. Won't be as depreciation proof as a Caterham, and is slightly less raw but still a riot.

I had the GKD legend that was on here so a caterham would be a no for me, going from an m3 engined kit car to one that had the sort of engine/tech that a 10k caterham would have wouldn't be much fun!

Well if you're an "engine" kind of person, probably a TVR then.

Get a TVR. Test drive one and you will see.

(I love Elises too though!)

Well engine/looks/handling smile

I did think about the Cerbera but they're not quite what i'm looking for.

Most definately the 240z. Great engine to begin with but for more poke a nice RB would drop in nicely smile

I like the thought of a 968 or even a 911, i'm just not overly 'up' on my porkers. I guess it'd be a 964 model 911? Are the 968's getting more interest now?

My plan is to spend under my budget then get a tatty gt6 to fit an e36 328i engine and drivetrain to as a long term project.

Go to a big classic auction like Brightwells and see what you fall in love with? I went to a HVA auction earlier this year not planning on buying anything and ended up leaving with a car this...

...It was sat there all shiny and purdy cloud9. A trip to Brightwells last time was an overload for me smile

Sorry this is PH so an MX-5 is the obvious answer surely??
