If it bothers you that much then hire a small socially deprived child to press the hazard warning button everytime you lock the car.Just locked my Audi A4 Avant 190bhp 2004 and noticed the indicator lights never flashed when locking. You don't have to tell anybody about this, when he is not on duty (i.e. when you don't need to lock the car when you nip into bargain booze really quickly, a situation similar to leaving your headlights on because it will "only be minute") you can lock the imp in the boot, make sure it is locked though because without the lights flashing you might be lulled into a false sense of security.
Make sure to feed him though, fish heads will do, otherwise he will not be able to perform the task of flashing the lights when you lock the car.
Either that or forget about it because it doesn't really matter.

Ha Ha! Love it!
