Trying to sell my Mitsubishi GTO and losing the will to live with waste of time enquiries from guys living miles away who never show. What's the furthest anyone has travelled to buy a car?

Chap working in Korea got off the plane at Heathrow, came up to mine on the train, gave me the cash, took the integrale and off he went (on the offchance he's reading this, I'll have the car back!)

ETA he didn't drive the car back to Korea...

Went from Canterbury to Edinburgh to get mine.
The car was sold new in Southhampton and bought by the guy I got it from in Birmingham - been up and down the country this one!

Quite a lot for a fairly cheap car but I'd happily do it (assuming it still makes financial sense after trains/fuel costs!)

Mallorca to North Yorkshire. Guy who bought my last 911 did the journey 2 weekends on the trot to view and buy, then pay and drive it home. Good effort smile

Aberdeen to London to buy a £300 16v Mk3 Golf GTI, it was from a fellow PHer and once all the small niggles were fixed it was the best £500 I've spent (includes air fare and fuel home)

Manchester to Belfast for an MGB.

Beautiful sunset drive back on the A75.. followed by torrential rain and wind on a dark M6. Pretty soon decided on a headlamp upgrade!

A friend went from west London to past aberdeen, I think near fraserburgh to pick a car up.

I've not had to go too far yet for a car but I do remember going from London to Glasgow to pick up two alloys. Yes, 800 mile round trip for two alloys even though the guy said he'd get them courier'd down to me. Me being impatient couldn't wait that long and just drove up.

When my OH's brother sold his Evo, a young lad called Sven flew over from Sweden, to London, then got the train up to Norwich and then onto us in Great Yarmouth.

Looked at the car, took him to the bank, he paid cash and drove it home.

Emailed 2 days later to say he had a lovely road trip and the car was brilliant! In my eyes, that man is a hero...
