Saw one yesterday coming off Junction 7 on the M6. Looked tremendous..

The kudos factor alone puts it into the "cool" section.

Are these mass produced? or are numbers limited???

yes
I've seen one, awesome, could tell it was special from a long ways away. Such a aggressive stance, would love one.
And yes they are pretty rare, 100 for UK iirc, happy to be corrected though. smile

450 I think in total uk initially and 720 usa + others around the world. There is no cap thou so will sell what is ordered so maybe be another run of 450 in uk.

I've seen several, all orange. I think they look a bit gash to be honest. Might be the colour but they are quite chav imo.

For some unknown reason our transport manager at work managed to blag one for a week. I've not been allowed to drive it though.

I can however state that it can drive through our car park pretty fast.

I went for a ride in one last week. Very nice.

Not got a little arm that passes you the seatbelt though, so I prefer the M3.

The production run is done. Finished. Never to be made again.

I only know this as I was talking to a BMW salesman the other week about them and how the dealer (Sytner, Nottingham) don't have nor have had a demonstrator. He explained this is why. Up unti this conversation I thought they were a regular production model.

They remind me of the Focus RS in a way, in that both cars try just a little too hard visually.

That's probably why I like it (being an RS owner).

They look very nice in the flesh, especially from the front or back as they are clearly wider.

I guess that's just personal preference. Nothing inherently wrong with aggressive looking cars and both at least have the performance to match the looks.

I think I like the flared wheel arches, it makes it look a bit less top-heavy than the normal 1-series saloon. It's the little details that look overdone to me.

Saw one the other day, couldn't help but think that it was one of the most hideously styled cars I've ever seen. God, they look awful - and it's still a one series!

Saw one at the ring in August, in orange metallic, queuing up at the barriers- complete with roof rack. Very cool cool.

The RS was the same parallel i first thought of. Hence "chav and gash" hehe

Each to their own though, just because it's too extrovert for me doesnt mean it shouldnt exist, i'm not that much of a narcissist.
