Ford Fiesta - X reg.

The rear light cluster has stopped working - sort of.

The indicator works but the 2 red lights do not work (normal rear red headlight and the brake light)

There is 1 single wire to the cluster which is not loose.

I switched the bulbs around but only the indicator socket works (so it is not the bulbs)

Presumably it is not the fuse as I would have thought 1 fuse would serve all the lights in that cluster.

Any ideas?

Um, no. Each circuit has a fuse.

Could be a bad earth, most likely.

OK panic over, I should have RTFM.

Different aprts of the light have different fuses. One of them has blown.

I have sacrified my interior lights and clock so I can have brake lights on the way to work tomorrow. Then I will just buy some new fuses.

A [partial] short - water ingress somewhere, frayed wire, etc.

Does the fuse blow when the bulb is out ?

Not sure, I dont have spare fuses to test

I will give my mechanic a ring tomorrow, see if he can have a look.
