Just been told by my garage, it'll cost £15 for a replacement.

DVLA site says maximum cost is £10 - do I haggle when I go to collect it?

Why do you need one - it should be available online?

So my buyer can tax the car at the post office.

Ahh smile, yes, I'd haggle then - although they'll probably claim it's a £5 admin fee...

Cant they tax it online? or is it a case of the car still being registered at your address. If so could you not forward the disk on when it arrives?

It's more a case of it's not taxed, nor insured (by me) at the moment, but the new buyer needs to store it on the road overnight tonight.

OP you want a duplicate not a replacement and the maximum they can charge is £10, report them to VOSA if they charge more.
