car damaged in works carpark

wednesday night i get back to the car to find a clean spot going from the drivers door all the way to the rear wheel arch, i think thats odd! anyway on closer inspection someone has driven into it, dented it and scraped it all the way from the arch to the door this is on a 3 door k11 micra by the way so nothing flash. anyway i talked to security who said they had someone call saying they had hit it but didnt leave their name and they called from a desk phone that was known to be spare as in display came up as spare. security told them to leave a note but they didnt.

I was going to send a mail around asking for them to come forward but i have been told im not allowed to do this. i think my only course of action is to go round inspecting the corners of everyone's cars! but then its not like i can actually do anything

any advice
