I'd like to go buy a smoker tonight, but it's not insured or taxed so they can't tax it for me. If I insured it this afternoon, would I be able to tax it online?

Thanks,
Jay

No, it takes a few days for the insurance company's computer to talk to the MID.

Entirely depends on how quick your insurance company update the MID. I insured my current car 6 months ago. Went to tax it online the other day and it's not the MID so couldn't do it.

Called my broker and got him to put a rocket up the underwriter. Fortunately there's a Post Office just down the road so I'll pop in and do it at the weekend.

I'm just counting my lucky stars I haven't been past an ANPR site as that would be an interesting conversation...
