Hey guys,

I'm hoping you can help me, I'm in the market for a new car but after dragging the Mrs around just about every dealership in our area I'm no further forward. From the cars I've tried the Fabia vRS, MiTo and Polo seem to have stood out the most but I just can't seem to decide on which would be the "better" buy. Which of these three do you guys think would be the better car?

I'd be put off by dsg for a start (only because of reliability worries well documented on here)

Like the Ibiza a lot, though. Mito may swing it, they any good?

What are you looking for in a car? (Performance, economy, running costs, build quality, reliability etc.)

What sort of budget do you have?

Nothing wrong with the MiTo although I am slightly biased.

Before buying any small car i would test drive a mini if i were you, even if you decide the boot is too small it is in a league of it's own in terms of driving appeal.

A few of the lads at work have the new ibizas and they do look nice (I like them in the White too).

What I'm looking for is something with good build quallity, resonable to run, tax and insure. I dont want to be spending anything more then 13k really, also it would be helpful if the car can hold golf clubs plus a golf trolley (that might mean the Minis out).

I had originally ordered a Punto Evo but after the dealership ballsed up my order I think the Puntos off my short list.

Based on what I've read in your other thread about you keeping it for a year and passing on to the GF, possibly go second hand and get something like this.

Yeah something like that would be perfect, it's still something I can enjoying for the year and it will meet the needs of her perfectly also.

check drive the deal, they often seem to have fabia vrs's for around £13k. Right now they have Hyundai i10s for under 7 grand. That's brand new, with 5 years warranty. Get the misses that, and spend the other 6k on something fun for yourself. Alternatively, there's very good deal on run out astra sport hatches at the moment (9k I think, brand new)
