So my Local Asda re-designed it's car park a few months ago (it still sucks).

Tonight I park in a different area to normal and notice that along with "Disabled Spaces" and "With Kids" spaces we now how "Low Emissions Spaces" for cars in Tax band A or B.

Car park is quite busy and there is around 10 of these spaces, only with is occupied: A diesel Mini with a stupid sparkly thing attached to its aerial.

Are they now in alliance with Green Peace or something !? ranting

So do they have a jobsworth to "police" who parks in these spaces ?

I shop in Asda and the car park at mine is having work done on it.

If they insert green spaces in it ,i shall deffo park the filth belching cosworth in one.

My car makes zero emmissions when it's parked. Would that count?

So presumably Asda or whichever parking firm run the car park are going to train people to identify low emissions cars, this could prove interesting.

Face value of tax disc would be a fairly easy indication since the scheme is based on tax band.

Should I ever be unfortunate to visit an ASDA, I'd park my shopping trolley in a space, as its zero emissions.

I've just heard Tesco claiming to be the greenest supermarket chain so I guess there's a competition to save our planet.
I've just noticed from the title that you've joined in the race to reduce emmissions yourself. smilethumbup

Honestly having briefly worked at Asda even that is perhaps asking too much from some of the car park staff.

At the store I worked at all staff were issued a permit. Even with a bright fffin orange badge you would not believe how many tickets were issued to staff on a daily basis only to be cancelled, it was a complete waste of time.

Our local Asda has the same

Rarely does anyone take any notice though, usually full of old stters that pre date emissions banding anyway
