Insurance Recommendation
Discussion
Can anyone recommend an insurance company for 2nd car, limited mileage insurance policies?
I will soon be taking ownership of my Father's 2003 A4 convertible, as he is no longer fit enough to drive it, as it is not worth that much and is in far too good a condition to sell for the current market value.
I was thinking that I could find someone to mirror my existing NCB, but I am not sure which companies will do this, and having done a few online quotes and they all seem to be much higher than I was expecting.
I will only be using the car occasionally and mainly during the summer so I was only looking for a limited mileage policy, or possibly a classic car policy although I am not sure if you can get a classic policy on a 2003 car.
Before starting to ring insurance companies directly if anyone can point me in the direction of a suitable insurer it would be appreciated.

Anyone else got any insurance recommendations as I am still struggling to find a reasonable quote, as very few insurers seem willing to mirror my current NCB.
I have tried ringing the likes of Adrian Flux & Footman James and have also tried Direct Line, Elephant and Aviva, but they all want between £700 - £1000 for a limited mileage policy on an A4 Convertible which does seem very expensive.
Only my current insurer, Esure, are willing to offer some sort of deal, with a 3 yr NCB introductory discount which is still not as much as the NCB on my main car, but does bring the quote down to about £400.
I would have thought that I could get a cheaper quote than that, as I think I am a fairly low risk - 38 yrs old, car garaged overnight, less than 4000 miles per year.
Any recommendations would be welcome.
