It's a long shot but this engine was stolen last night by some thieving scumbag, along with the Ford Transit GY52 MZL that it was strapped into for a dyno day today. cry
Whoever took the van wouldn't have known about the engine being in there..
It was not mine, it was a customers engine. A cash reward for it's safe return.

NNnooooooo, tell me that is not your engine for your new car?

Either way, worth a bump, sympathy and torture and pain to the culprits.

Why would someone knick a specialist drag engine? Or were they after the van?

Did you actually read the OP? smile

OP - all the best, does your insurance cover the engine?

It says they stole the van and didnt know the engine was in there. No it isnt his engine he also says that it is one of his customers engines. The info is all there if you just open your eyes dude.

ETA: Everyone beat me to it.

No,thankfully not.Worse it was a customers, which obviously i will have to replace at my expense, which means insurance premium will be up next year..
I think it was the van, although it was an 02 and not pretty.

Because that engine and presumably the bits used in it are pretty specialist / unique, I'd hope that if it or any of the bits of it come up for sale in the right circles you should be able to track it down quickly?

Good luck either way. Can't understand the mentality of the scumbags that do this.. never have, never will!

Sorry to hear about this.

But the crook that swiped your van must have opened the back doors later on, clocked that engine and thought "Jackpot"

Hope it turns up.
No doubt it will be open the doors and "what have we got here"
Thank you.
Around the scrapyards are what i'm doing today.
Please pass it on to whatever forum you go on in the off chance if you would folks.thumbup

Gutted for you mate hope you manage to recover the engine for your customer. Do hope the muppet who took the van was only after a free ride and dumps the van and motor somewhere you can get it recovered.

Got any specs of it and what it was going into?

are performance modded SBCs that common over there? I saw the pic and made the assumption that this would be something of a rarity, and might be difficult for thieves to get rid of quitely

10 years ago we called Small block chevies belly button engines, but they are even fading out here

Is it worth posting on some of the American Chevy v8 forums on the off chance that someone tries to sell it as a lump to an unknown buyer over there?
