Lexus GS F Sport Looks Faster, Isn't
Although there could be a V10 powered super-version on the way...

Lexus will reveal this new GS F Sport model at the SEMA show in Las Vegas on 1 November.
Available in the UK and across Europe next year, the F Sport features a new front bumper design with larger side grilles and a new mesh design for the upper and lower grilles. The F Sport package also includes a rear spoiler and dark metallic finish 19-inch alloy wheels.
The interior has also been tarted up with 16-way adjustable F Sport front seats, a black headliner and pillar finish, dimple perforated leather steering wheel and gear knob covers and aluminium pedals.
Suspension has been retuned to optimise AVS damping control, and the use of low viscosity oil improves their efficiency by reducing friction. In addition the rear shock absorbers have been inclined further to the rear, and the lower bushings have been made larger and stiffer. It's all said to maximise the AVS's control of body roll and, hence, improve response to steering inputs for a more engaging drive.
Sadly there's no extra power - the GS F Sport sticking with the standard model's 300-odd hp petrol-electric powertrain. However Autocar maintains that Lexus is considering sticking a detuned version of the LF-A's V10 under the bonnet. We'll believe that when we see it, what with rising sea levels and all...
Lexus, get over the hybrid rubbish already! Not everyone is a gullible american celebrity.
Putting aside the environmental stuff, hybrid power makes a big difference to the driving experience.
But don't let that get in the way of your badge snobbery

Lexus has never marketed the GS / LS hybrids on their environmental credentials alone, on these models its just as much about performance enhancing as it is about lowering emissions.
The CO2 emissions on the new hybrid model will cause a raised eyebrow - especially when its performance is taken into account
