I am currently the owner of a Seat Leon FR TSI, but am interested in upgrading the 4 wheels to something more beast-like. Cupra R caught my eye but just wanted to get a general feel on past experience with the Cupra..? I have has no issues with the FR (apart from an off exhaust warning light). I also have temptations towards 350Z...

I think this is a clear divide tbh, either you're a hatchback person or you aren't.

For me, I'm not. So can't even see the comparison with the 350z tbh.

Go for the "proper" RWD sporting muscle bound GT eqs coupe! biggrin

In my 'umble opinion, they are both fine cars indeed.

I also prefer rear wheel drive (because I'm a powerfully built driving guru), but for me the 350Z feels more special. And makes a better noise. And looks nicer.

In fact, I was so impressed with the 350Z that I'm due to collect the I've just bought this sunday! smile

I've not driven the FR but I owned a Cupra for 18 months. I have heard that the ride quality is better in the Cupra due to the light weight suspension components used. Equipment wise there isn't much to choose between them.

If you'd be happy with a faster version of what you've already got then fair enough - I liked my Cupra and would have another. However I don't think the Cupra / Cupra R would be that much of a jump up from your current FR.

Although if you're planning on power upgrades, the Cupra and Cupra R can take over 300bhp with a simple software upgrade.

I considered lots of cars and settled on the 350z, and not regretted it for second!

What's your budget?

Budget - Probably bugger all now that i am about to buy a house... banghead
however - probably around the £10-12K market area. EVO 8 was also on the option-but i hear they are hassle on the upkeep!

If you're about to buy a house and ongoing costs are a factor, I think you'll find the Cupra's a lot cheaper to run on a daily basis than the 350Z.
