Camskill tyres-what is the "product model"?
Discussion
Might be a daft question but I'm looking at tyres on Camskill and have found the tyres I have fitted to my car at the moment. On the description page, it has a "product model" and mentions two cars, any idea what these are? Are these cars which came from the factory with these tyres?
A tyre having been 'designed for a car' and a tyre being 'selected for OEM fitment' are two different things. You're right, tyres aren't often designed for a single make/model- but most manufacturers have a selected OEM brand for their range. I also remember some manufacturers specifying an additional spec for some tyres e.g. Porsche and 'N2' rated tyres.
Some of them will mean the stock tyre has been approved for OE fitments, some will mean the tyre has been modified from the standard aftermarket construction to meet an OEMs specific need.
Here's a list of some marks.
