Went to view a house after work today and both the estate agent and ourselves were late due to an accident. We went passed the scene and there was a 3 series facing backwards in a bush on a straight road? Anyway...

On the way back, scene was about 400 yards ahead, all the emergency services present and traffic queuing.. I join the slow traffic in the outside lane and as I'm sitting there I hear a screech, very bloody loud! In my mirror, a 206 is about to smash our poor golf into pieces, but at the last second he avoided us, hit the central reservation and rebounded into 2 stationary vehicles. I had my hazards on to let approaching traffic know... The next bit amazed me!

I put the car in the inside lane with hazards on and went to check on all parties involved, 3 cars between us and the accident, slowly went round the 3 cars involved as if nothing had happened! I checked on people, we all agreed on what happened, we got the cars onto a space in central res. and I let them all make relevant calls to parents etc.. I then counted 43 cars before anybody even opened a window to check nobody was hurt!!! People squeezing past our golf because they couldn't wait a few minutes while I helped calm the scene of an accident! People in this fking country drive me insane!!!

Cool story I know..

Most of this country is dead inside.

I waited around after a friend put a car in a ditch in Spain on a roundabout. In an hour at least 30 people stopped, I'd say only about 60 people went past in that time!

It's often handier for people to get out of the area and clear the scene, rather than everyone park up and have a look.

I understand that but it took one 21 year old to stop and clear the road and everyone else (including people closer than me) just acted like it hadn't happened. One of the drivers was really shook up and took quite a nasty bump.
