Just dug out RR MOT and it ran out on the 1st of September!!!

Off to MOT it now, but anyone wonder why they dont send out reminders for this like they do for TAX??

They do a reminder service now for £1.50. They'll text you a month in advance of expiry.

I think it's only useful for people who chance their cars regularly. If you have had the same cars for years and years, it'll be ingrained in.

Chance hehe

Yup, well that will be me then - planning to keep the RR, so may stick that in the diary.

I put it in my calendar (computer/phone) and I get reminded that way.

My local garage (where I got the car MOT'd last year) posted me a reminder too.

Halfords Autocentres have a Reminder Service - enter your email address and MOT/Service dates on their website and they will email you 40/20/10 days before the MOT (obviously these stop if you book via them).

Typically they run a 50% MOT offer as well.

Well it passed with flying colours so that's a bonus!

Interestingly, BMW log it centrally and chase you to book it in. Which is handy.

The service computer is also aware and logs it as a service due.

My old Megane went for three months!! Only realised I'd had it more than a year when I tried to sell it last Easter... whistle

Then it failed emissions with advisories for everything. irked

My outlaws realised that the MOT on one of their cars had expired in June. Last month.

Do people not diarise important dates of note anymore?

(This isn't a pop at the OP btw, but I seem to read alot of similar posts on here, and in most cases alot of the time people seem to think that it's not their fault as they should have been reminded...)

ATS Euromaster also chase you to book in for a test . . . . . unfortunately they also do this if you have a trade account with them, so you get reminders for cars that have long since gone, and they soon pile up hehe
