I used a broker for my Defender. They were called "2gether insurance" I think. They were quick, efficient and fairly amiable on the phone. The cover was provided from the same insurer (KGM) as my flux policy, only cheaper. I have the Defender 90 covered for 4k miles year (off road sites too), with off road mods (tyres, snorkel & winch). I'm 28, live in an average post code and it was £165 for the year. This is Fully Comp too.

The broker seem like a 2bit outfit to be honest, BUT same cover, same insurer, les money. biggrin

When I rang them a couple of months ago they said they were no longer able to offer insurance for modified 4x4s.

Fair enough. It's got to be worth the call though - I'm unable to get it insured otherwise!!

Just put a new Defender on to Sureterm on Saturday. £232 fully comp on one of those policies where you neither need or earn NCB.

Wasn't overly impressed with their efficiency as all the details given on Friday were originally "not on the system" and when they were, they were a mix of 2 Defenders (one previous quote) so had to go through everything again. 1/2 hour later I finally left the sellers premises with my new toy.

So much for trying to be prepared.

Depends on your mods IME, lifts or bullbars limit your options. Flux have always been good for me, but the NFU are worth a look for Defenders.
