need a battery booster for a 5.7 engine any ideas

looking for a battery booster for 5.7 boat engine that onboard battery is always goes flat, tried a halfruads 900a one but didn't touch it, any ideas.

Isn't a boat supposed to have some special "deep cycle" battery to avoid this?

Otherwise Maplin solar charger for a tenner.

Have tried solar charger no luck, the battery is a large boat model but only gets used once a moth and is isolated between uses.

Essentially if a battery won't hold charge the battery's knackered. Batteries in boats get especially grouchy as a result of being left unused for long periods. Useful guide here,

I use a Clarke 4000 for my boat, never let me down even with a completely flat boat having had the stereo on all day while moored up Not cheap and weighs a ton but will more than likely start the space shuttle...
