Whats your no claims etc, thats the cheapest I could get on a standard 2.0 Focus with a perfect driving record over 8 years!

Age 37, 7 years no claims, Sheffield.

I'm quite chuffed with that. The best from a "reputable" firm was £501.

Weirdly, the RS with Admiral is monstrously cheap.

I pay £950 for my MG ZT CDTi, but i'd pay £1600 for an ST... or £700 for an RS!

Pay the £501.

My brother had a non fault accident whilst insured with Hastings Direct 5 years ago, Hastings were informed by the police, who attended as they were witnesses from a local shop.

Anyway, 5 years later, my brother is still waiting for Hastings to return the money they owe him from incorrectly removing his no claims, even though he was not at fault. FIVE years. I don't think he will ever see the money back, never mind the knock-on effect on his premium for the 5 years since.

Don't do it, they are cheap for a reason.

I'd just echo previous comments. Hastings Direct offer terrible service in my experience.

My fiance was insured with them, living in an average area & was 9 months into her policy. When we moved in together to a similar area only 2-3 miles away, HD wanted her to pay an additional £450. This was more than she had paid for her premium.

After a long complaint process with lots of calls & letters, they eventually amended it for £45. My comp Admiral did mine straight away for £20, no fuss.

Once she started telling friends about her experience, it turned out that a lot of them had similar sorts of problems. I vowed i'd never touch them with a barge pole & would tell others so they can be avoided.
