Just browsing cars within a certain budget on AT, as you do, and i stumble across this behemoth.

As i said, i feel dirty for even looking, but am curiously interested, i guess in the same way people are curiously interested in internet beheadings.

So tell me stuff about them. Thanks

They're not bad at all. Many here seem to think otherwise but the 3 I've driven have been pretty decent. Not quite up there with german marques in terms of how nice cuddling the dash feels, but no squeaks, the odd rattle, and a pretty good engine. Far worse cars out there IMO, the hemi ones are great fun.

Based on the Mercedes W210 platform - diesels are Mercedes based lumps, petrols are Chrysler V6 or V8.

None are particularly economical - but the diesel is 'ok' given the size and performance.

Early models have really cheap interiors - but massive levels of kit.

Later models keep the kit and get some upgrades to make them a bit less 'American'.

A bit of a wallowy barge, but comfortable - and I think they're great fun.

If I didn't have a company barge, I'd have one.

Andy,
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/chrysler/300...
might be a starting point.
Also, http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t... might be worth a read through, too.

Good luck with your search - and you only need to feel 'dirty' if you're considering the diesel. It's got to be the 5.7 V8 HEMI - this is Pistonheads after all...!!

Diesel makes most sense. But you can get a 340hp 5.7 hemi or a 6.1 400 odd hp srt.

I'd would love one to waft about in, but that would be it....

And aslong as its not 'bentley'd' up

Ill always remember a quick review in the back of evo that made me chuckle

'Gangster chic'..... 'Ginsters suspension'

I was surprised how small the boot is when I looked at one once.
