Anybody remapped a 1.6 tdci Focus?

Do approx 25k - 30k miles a year in it, currently at 28k miles

Is it the same 90hp engine as the Fiesta 1.6 TDCI?

Edit: I'm guessing not.

Pretty sure the gains are minimal. Friend has the 1.8. he would get a extra 20bhp max.

I think its 109 or 110 hp as standard - 60 plate with a dpf

Do you think 20-25hp increase will be noticeable?

I think you'd be better off getting a DPF delete and remove the precat. Then get a remap.

A map will potentially improve how it drives, it might not make it hugely faster flat out, but it should improve throttle response and mid range. So should make it a much nicer vehicle to drive.

Whether it's worth it is up to you though.

The closest experiance I have is a good friend remapping his 1.6 Fiesta. It went from 89hp to 114 and the performance increase was noticable.

Saying this, after 7months or so he blew his turbo as he drives the car very hard. The turbo was replaced under warranty and Ford didn't notice the remap.

Nearest I can get is my Connect 1.8TDi.

From 75bhp up to 95bhp and a very big differenc in the way it drove. Better on hills, no down change required compared with previous. Generally a lot more spritely wink

I used a Bluefin handheld, takes 10 minues, is well tried and tested. It wasn't cheap but I did get a tad better fuel eceonomy as I wasn't having to rev so much to go places!

Did the thick end of 90k miles in 14 months with no issues. Van had about 50k on it when mapped. Sold at 142k going strong.
