most fun for 1500 quids!!
Discussion
Hey everyone
im in the fortunate position of having £1500 cash for a new car. (i know...your jealous) i understand that there are literaly 890 million different cars that i could have in that price range BUT i need something fun. i do no real mileage a year (5k max) so mpg isnt really an issue and insurance isnt an issue either.
and i would take fun and speed over looks and comfort ANY day of the week.
any suggestions or inspiration would be ace!!
cheers people

(I'd suggest the MR2, smiles per £ (fuel aside) is awesome.

Or a slice of something Italian and topless:£1595. Check when the cambelt was last done.

Then I might have just the thing...You could probably get one of these for £1,500.

They're hugely exhilerating given a suitably rorty side exit exhaust and a dropped screen and the either of those Fiat Twincam examples pictured would leave an MX5 - even many of the turbo'd examples - looking like it was stuck in neutral.
Useless for everyday driving or even touring, but delightfully bonkers for a 20 minute blast.
(And you did mention you weren't fussed about the looks!

What is with the MX5 suggestions? the OP mentioned speed and said fuel economy and insurance is not important!
What you need OP is a 2.0 turbo and some rear or four wheel drive action, and yes i had a 1.8 mk2 so have owned an mx5 for a bit.

The mighty MX5 is the be all and end all. Seeing as someone beat me to the red scooby there's this:

Fantastic cars and that one appears to have had it's 2 bugbears (the cambelt and clutch) done recently.Problem is it's not a 'fun' car - it's a seriously grown-up GT, loads of top-end speed but it's a bit soft for the corneringing...
