Best looking car of the 60's
Discussion
I think the E type came out in 1959.
In which case it is a moot point whether it was an icon of the 1950's or 1960's.
In any event I was a teenager at the time.
No sports car has ever had the breath taking effect of the E type when it was first on show. I remember the =furore then all over europe. Unequaled.
The stunning lines have never been bettered in my view.
The 150MPH top speed (just: in lightweight form) would be respected even today. That is more than fifty years later.
A truly gigantic achievement in motoring history.
Often copied but never equaled. The E type challenged Ferrari head on. And won.
The E type has to be the best looking car of the 1960's.
