Ideally thinking of V12, 8 or 6 and I6 formations.

The obvious ones are Rover V8's and Jag V12's....but what else is out there?

The BMW 2.8 M52 straight six engine had an alloy block. The later 3.0 litre was magnesium alloy I think.

Merc's V8s from about the late 80s onwards. All BMW's V8s?

TVR's AJP and Speed Six.

I'm pretty sure that the Alfa Arese V6 was an aluminium block.

All recent Audi V6 and V8 engines are alu block I think. The V8s are all definitely, I think the V6 ones are too.
