Which classic car?
Discussion
having just bought a new house i have also got a new garage. this means i need to fill it before the missus does. so i'm looking for a fun car for less than £5k, preferably a classic to tinker with in the evenings and drive on the weekends.
it needs to come with an MOT and not be a rust bucket. I don't mind tatty or in need of mechanical work, just no rust please.
I'd really love a 240z but i can't seem to find many for sale let alone that cheap. I've looked at MGBs but one thing that occured to me is I may need to buy imperial tools (all mine are metric) this may just be a good excuse to go tool shopping. I also quite like the bmw 2002.
my other criteria is that i must be able to fit in it, I'm 6'3 and 18stone of second row forward.
is there any others I've missed? any good interesting ideas?

A sprite only if you are a contortionist at your height! The fly half for my team drove a Honda Beat for a while...but as a member of the forwards union that sort of size car me be a bit socially unacceptable!
You may struggle to find a rot free 2002 at your price.
It's a cliche I guess but wont go far wrong with an MGB - could pick up a decent example for your budget.
Maybe a spitfire, but I find them a bit...meh. But its all about taste

mgb was my number 1 contender. i think it'd be the most sensible option. i'd rather a gt to a roadster and again not sure i'd fit?

How about a nice Amazon, reliable, sturdy and pretty cool.
