Ok I have lowered my car 60/40mm front to back. You might think that is a little excessive but it does not look too extreem :

I accepted that there might be issues with the drop but, but having it that low has not caused a problem for 7 years. I can negotiate speed pillows, sleeping policemen, the odd steep ramp might catch the spoiler once a year, I can live with that.

My local supermarket has speed pillows and I can negotiate them with no problems. The raised flower beds at the end of the parking bays are higher than my front spoiler so I am carefull when parking.

Now they have installed quite tall plastic/rubber sleeping policemen across the entrance and exit. I have not noticed it but when parking my car on arriving home I have noticed the front spoiler hanging off and had to knock it back in a few times.

I don't know why I am writing this, maybe just to get it off my chest. Hey its their car park that can do what they like. Got to find a new supermarket, not raising the car nono

I thought speed bumps could only be a maximum of 100mm high, but every one I see is over that.

Pop over them at an angle. Should clear them fine that way.

Max height for the roads is 10cm. Take 10cm stick, shove under splitter. If clears, moan, if no clearance, suck it up and ship at Waitrose wink

Leave the car and just walk?

Use the bus?

Shop locally?

Multiple solutions to a self-caused problem...

reminds me of an old boss who had a love affair with his elise.

He would only be in the office on the day when he could get in the office underground, even though the ramp at the front meant that he had to drive on at a 45 degree angle.

Anytime that a multi-storey was called for he was out, or the car was at the dealers...

Its not really, look at the groung clearance. I don't have any issues anywhere else, even negotiating ferry on/off ramps

My sump hits coke cans rolling in the road. I feel your pain.

A sumps an easier position to get over bumps though than an area in front of wheels.

The supermarket has two car parks linked by a very short (length of 1 & 1/2 cars) road. The road is one way. I can get into the car park I want to get to but thats the one with the huge speed ramps on the exit.

If on exiting, I nip up the connecting road the wrong way and use the non obstucted car park exit, against the one way signs. Am I committing an offence as its private property?

Eh? How would that work? Even at an angle the spoiler has to go over the speed bump before a tyre can reach it.

Probably not but it is hardly considerate driving.

Or driving with reasonable care.

Or recognising the inherent danger of deliberately ignoring the signs and traffic flow.

I leave it to you to assess yourself. In a balanced manner.

Seems bit selfish? Asking for trouble?

Spot On.

They aren't on the road, they're in a private car park - they can be as high as the supermarket likes (although it would be bloody stupid for them to be over 10cm).

Looking at that picture, I'm amazed you aren't hitting things all the time! That's ridiculously low. hehe
