Can anyone help point out which of these I should go for? Both are circa £9.5k with similar mileage. Any help is appreciated.

The petrol's a lovely engine. Is it the older 2.0T or the new one? Not really sure when the newer one came out. I've got the newer one in my TT and it's a belter. Has more torque than the 170 diesel and from lower down too I believe. I await correction!

Audi best buy ,as they hold price for longer and a better car in my opinion.

They're the figures for the older one. Just checked, the newer one's 350NM, and indeed from lower revs.

I have had the 170bhp passat tdi sport mine was the estate version. The DPF was frequently clogging up if you did shorter trips. It wasn't that great on mpg returned about 38 and pretty dull to drive.

I'd be different and get the Passat, certainly up here in Aberdeen they are rare compared to any A4 variant

For 9.5K id look at an Audi TDI A6 (C6) model estate if you want something nice. 9.5K should get you a good condition one, I have one and it hasn't put a foot wrong as my diesel daily driver, and returns 45 mpg on average.

I test drove that very passat, and also a BMW 330d estate. The 330d was the quickest and best drive by far, but didn't have enough room for my surf and snow boards..

Yep.. Impressive torque from the petrol in my brief passenger experience.
