Hello, I have just bought a 356 speedster from california and noticed it could do with demisting on the windscreen on colder mornings, has anyone tried the plug in heaters (i know that they are not great). Or can recomend a good heating system.

Thanks

7th post is the one telling us you have a 356 Speedster? You massive, massive show off hehe

Those heaters are rubbish (in particular clamping them somewhere is often a challenge) - you're better off with the window slightly open and a demisting cloth.

Thanks for your reply but you cant open the windows as they are fixed, either in or out.
I have been trying to locate the old school rear demister and put a thin strip all the way around and get a little heat into the glass that way.

I got one for the track car when I took the heater out, and thought it may do a little good. You cant even warm your hands on it, its that bad.

Thinking logically, even if it draws the maximum current for most cig. lighter sockets, that's only just over the same heat as a 100w light bulb. scratchchin

I got a heated windscreen instead in the end. Far better, but probably not much use for you.
