Rookie with 5k

Hi everyone! First post for me so thought I'd jump straight in!
First off I'm a complete rookie. No experience of working with cars at all. However I most certainly do enjoy driving! I've done all sorts of driving experiences which have all got me interested in kit cars. This was all brought to a head when I recently got behind the wheel of a DB9. I'm in love!! Sadly I'm also poor
So I've had another look at kit cars. For argument's sake let's say I'm on a tight budget. Is 5k reasonable? I've spotted 2 kits that I like the look of: GBS Zero and MK Indy (possibly the R version). I'll be doing some research on Google for sure but if anyone can give me some quick pointers (either advice or web site links) I'd be very grateful.
