My visit to Kensington ..... Bristol
Discussion
Last week, whilst having a few days in London, I dragged my long-suffering
girlfriend to a certain showroom in Kensington.
Whilst boring her with details about where a Bristol Blenheim keeps its spare
wheel and how that particular model uses Audi A6 Avant rear lights instead of
Vauxhall Senator ones Toby Silverton came out for a cigarette. We began talking
and i told him of my relief that Bristol were saved by Frazer-Nash - he then
told me all about the lease issuse which forced the finanicial issues.
He then told me about the 400bhp electric four-seater car which a range
extending petrol engine car that they hads planned (which was in EVo magazine a
while ago). I mentioned it similarity to the Chevy Volt - something that he
didn't agree with.
Anyway, he asked me if I wanted to go to the underground carpark to see a few
more Bristols - he showed me his own Blenheim, a dusty old 407 (i think), two
other Blenheims and a Beaufightetr and Honda Beat which Toby himself had had a
go in. Which was fun to hear about.
He also told me that the Orange fighter often displayed in the showroom is owned by a lady who only lives in London for 6 months of the year....
Just wanted to share my exciting experience!
