How to recover money from dealer who sold your car?

Has anyone else dealt with******* mod edit*******

A friend refer them to me and I had them sell my e type for me and they collected cash from the buyer. The propiertor said he would wire me my funds but besides a small amount has kept most of my money.

After many calls and emails and false promises he still owes me 10,000 gbp and this is from last May 2011.

Can I file a police report for theft of funds? I never authorize lending this guy any money.

Issue a winding up petition against his company.

Go to the police. they will try and fudge it and say it's a contract/civil issue but as soon as dishonesty is involved, it is a police matter and regardless of contract, if he's had the cash and you haven't, he's stolen it.
