I'm not talking about the fastest car in the world.... Or even the best looking car in the world.

I'm talking about a car with attributes (speed, handling, practicality....) that are all pretty much balanced. A car which was built without the makers having to make huge (if any) sacrifices.

So what are your thoughts?

Best car money can buy for -

1. A family of four
2. A Couple
3. Singleton (or as PH said when I checked my mates list..... Billy No Mates)

I'd plump for the W124 generation SL and 500E for two of those.

ETA a Rocket for the singleton.

This was precisely the brief that Mclaren had when they designed the F1. It was originally only supposed to have about 400bhp, it was just meant to be very pure to drive (thus the lack of PAS, ABS, TC etc), but also be comfortable, refined and with space for luggage.
